The 10th graduation ceremony of Nicolas Barre College, a prestigious institution under the guidance of the Reverend Sister Rita Shumen the Principal, was a day of joy, reflection, and celebration. Held on the 1st of August 2024, the event marked a significant milestone in the school’s history, celebrating a decade of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and the holistic development of young minds.
The school’s mission of nurturing students not only in academics but also in values and character is deeply rooted in the teachings of the Catholic faith. The ceremony was a testament to the dedication of the Principal, Sisters of the Infant Jesus, the commitment of the teaching staff, and the hard work of the students who have upheld the school’s standards over the years. The occasion was attended by the Sisters of the Infant Jesus, the parish priest of St. Martin’s Catholic Church Ganye, the prince of Ganye chiefdom, the vice chairman of Ganye local government, other government representatives, staff, and students of the college, and other Primary/second schools within Ganye local government
The event began with a solemn Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Moses Tapaki, reflecting the spiritual foundation upon which the school was built. In his homily, the priest emphasized the importance of faith, integrity, and service to others, encouraging the graduating students to carry these virtues into their future endeavors.
The principal, Rev. Sr Rita Shumen delivered an inspiring address, reflecting on the journey of the school from its inception to its present stature. She highlighted the achievements of the students, both academically and in extracurricular activities, and expressed her gratitude to the Reverend Sisters, teachers, and parents for their unwavering support.
