AMIENS- THE BIRTHPLACE OF NICOLAS BARRE

On July 21, 2022, delegates from various countries made a pilgrimage to Amiens, the town where our founder was born, in the footsteps of Nicolas Barré. The ambiance is soothing and relaxing. It was significant because we were on the same path as Nicolas Barré. This made us feel closer to our ancestors.

We attended Mass at St. Martin’s Church, where the baptistery used for N. Barré’s baptism is now housed in a special space. The baptistery serves as a symbol for us because it reminds us of our baptismal promises in Christ and our oneness as sisters with the same Father.

The Cathedral of Amiens, where N. Barré’ prayed, is also lovely, with the Bible sculpted on its walls. One of the cathedral’s side altars was built by N. Barré’s uncle.

It was a rich spiritual renewal and growth experience.
