The Queen of Peace Nursery and Primary school in Bukuru is administered by the Sisters of the Infant Jesus on behalf of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos. Presently it has over 900 pupils ranging from 3 years (play Class) to 12 years (primary 6) and more than 50 members of staff.

Archbishop Kaigama established Queen of Peace school in 2003 (not long after he came to Jos), ‘planting’ it as a seed for peace placed under the patronage of Our Lady Queen of Peace. The school motto is ” Education for Peace-building“.
In keeping with the image of a seed planted, the school anthem is ” Let us spread the pollen of peace throughout our World”.
Sisters of the Infant Jesus: Nicolas Barre Academy Kona, Jalingo Taraba State.
The motto of the school is “Simple in Virtue, Steadfast in Duty”.
Nicolas Barre Academy (NBA) is one of the Schools owned by the Sisters of the Infant Jesus in Nigeria. Situated at the foothills of Kona mountains. We are a school founded on the principles of qualitative and Holistic education.
When the pupils of New Seed Nursery and Primary School Kona were about completing their primary education, the parents of the pupils alongside the Sisters thought it wise to keep grooming them in a holistic way. They started and continue to give them the quality of education they have from primary level.
Nicolas Barre Academy started with 22 students in number with just one class which was J.S.S.1. at the temporary site which is where the primary section is situated.
At the moment the school has moved to its permanent site with two classes, J.S.S.1 and J.S.S.2 and a total number of 39 students.
St Paul’s Nursery and Primary school Dawaki, Pankshin Plateau State.
BRIEF BIOGRAPH OF ST. PAUL’S NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL
St. Paul’s Nursery and Primary School in Dawaki was established in 2003 and was managed at the beginning by the Parish church chairman. The diocese and the parish priest had nothing to do with it, until when Pankshin became a diocese and the new bishop took interest in all the institutions in the Diocese and decided to give some form of organization.
The Infant Jesus Sisters were invited by the Bishop in 2016. After much discernment and discussion, the sisters responded to the call to begin a Community in Pankshin Diocese. On arrival in 2018, they were asked to take on the administration of St. Paul’s Nursery and Primary school, Dawaki.
The school at this time was not in very good shape. All classrooms were built with mud, and in poor condition and not enough classrooms. For instance, primary 3A and B shared one classroom, some children sat on bare floor while teachers sat on windows to teach and there weren’t toilet facilities.
With great courage, the sisters faced the challenges of their new mission. Little by little, few furniture were made, a block of four toilet rooms was built to ensure good hygiene for both staff and pupils. St Paul’s had its first graduation ever, in July 2019.
With the help of the good people of Ireland, through the Irish embassy Mulligar Apostolic work, St Paul’s Catholic Church Ayrfield, Dublin 5 and the religious sisters of Mercy Ireland, the infant Jesus Sisters were able to put up a borehole and a block of five classrooms on the school’s permanent site, to increase the learning space for the pupils.
On 12th March 2020, the school was happy to welcome His Lordship, Most Rev. Michael Gobal Gokum, the Bishop of Pankshin diocese, a good number of priests, the village Head of Dawaki and his council, parents and well-wishers, for the commissioning ceremony of the school building. It was a beautiful sight to behold and great hope indeed for the pupils of St. Paul’s Nursery and Primary School, Dawaki.
The school currently has a population of 247 pupils ranging from play class, nursery, 1, 2 and primary 1-6 and the focus of the mission here is to give holistic education to the children just as the motto implies “Education where everybody is somebody”.

Infant Jesus Sisters: Nicolas Barre College Ganye Adamawa State
Brief history of the school established by the Infant Jesus Sisters.
Nicolas Barre College, (N.B.C. for short) is a co-educational school which is opened to all children of secondary school age irrespective of sex, social, ethnic or religious background. It was established with the aim to:
- Provide a dynamic and integrate process of education that enables students to develop both their human and transcendent values.
- Offer an integrated curriculum which strives to maintain a high standard of academic performance.
- Create an atmosphere where the students’ natural talents and creative abilities are recognized.
The sisters arrived in Ganye in 1984, initially were involved in pastoral work. When the need to open a good nursery and school arose in 1994, the sisters responded positively and St. Martin’s CRI was established.
In the course of running the primary school, we realized that there was a great need to followed-up with a secondary school that offers quality education in order to complete the good job we started in St. Martin’s, and so through the generosity of some of our mission friends in different countries and the support of the Irish Government, this college came into existence in September 2009.
On the 21st October 2011, the event of the inauguration of our secondary school took place and was officially opened with a team of well experienced and disciplined staff, well-equipped science laboratories and facilities, fully equipped library.
Nicolas Barre College is a day and boarding school, the boarding started in September 2019. Presently, it has 246 students (234-day students and 12 boarders for now).
Infant Jesus Sisters: The New Seed Nursery/Primary School Jalingo Taraba State
Brief history of the school.
The New Seed school is a Catholic Mission School under the leadership of the Catholic Bishop of Jalingo Diocese, but owned and being managed by the Sisters of the Infant Jesus.
At that time, there was no nursery school in Kona for the numerous children and only few families were able to send their little ones to St. Monica’s Nursery and Primary school in Mayo-Dassa.
Sr. Caterina Dolci I.J, the first Head Mistress, took up the challenge and began the preparation for the opening of the school.
The initiative was welcomed by the families and at the opening of nursery one class; the first 77 children were enrolled.
Seeing the great number of them, the children were divided into two streams and the little building already available on this piece of land was used to begin.
The Sister then began to think of how to provide accommodation for the following school years. So, little by little and thanks to the initial help by some Italian benefactors, she was able to build new classrooms and a block of toilets.
Up to the academic year 2011/2012, the school had only nursery classes and at the end of that, the children went on to different primary schools while some extra-mural classes were provided for them in the afternoons.
It was six years ago, in September 2012 that the first two streams of nursery two were enrolled into primary one and these graduated into secondary school in 2018.
Between 2005 and now a lot has happened. We have had good and bad experiences. On a positive note, we have experienced growth, spiritually, morally, academically and physically.
Our great collaborators at AVSI/ Loving Gaze, the Sisters of the Infant Jesus and some Italian friends have not left us to perish. Without the support of these, we will not be where we are today.
This little school has also seen the comings and goings of five different Head Mistresses, each one giving her best and passing on to another to continue the race. Special thanks to sister Catherina Dolci IJ for her courage and risking the unknown in starting New Seed and the initial funding of the little school.
Therefore, may God richly bless all who have and are still making sacrifice to give meaning and direction to our children.
